The Regional Democratic Council of Region Six office in New Amsterdam was last night robbed and police are currently at the scene as an investigation has been launched.
According to information gathered, bandits last evening broke into the location and tied up a female security guard.
Stabroek News was told that the bandits reportedly broke off the lock from the heavily grilled room where a sum of cash was being stored in suitcases.
As of this morning efforts were being made to ascertain exactly how much money was stolen, however, sources close to the investigation said that it amounts to millions.
