Several injured after pileup on Windsor Castle road – Stabroek News

The accident scene

A serious accident which occurred yesterday on the Windsor Castle public road in Region Two has led to several persons being hospitalized at the Suddie Public Hospital.

The police say that the collision occurred around 17:00 hours on the Windsor Castle Public Road.

The accident involved motor car bearing registration number PJJ 3110, a mini bus BVV9881, a motor car PJJ 7992, motor car PEE 5548 and motor tractor 16345z The police say that the bus had a twenty- year -old passenger Akeem Norton of Charity Extension Scheme and Fernando Johnson of the same area. The driver of the the mini bus was Sheldon Ellis of Charity Housing Scheme.

Information disclosed that motor car PJJ 3110 was proceeding north on the western driving lane while Mini bus BVV 9881 was proceeding south on the eastern driving lane alledgely speeding when the driver lost control of the  Mini bus and collided with the front portion of motor car PJJ 3110. The car then collided with a sign board on the western side of the public road and came to a halt.

The Mini bus BVV 9881 then collided with a utility pole which is located on the eastern side of the public road after which the mini bus collided with the rear of motor cars PJJ 7972, PEE 5548 and motor tractor 16345 which was parked on the eastern side of the Public Road facing in the eastern direction.

The mini bus then struck a concrete culvert. The drivers of motor car PJJ 3110 and mini bus BVV 9881 along with the passengers were immediately rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital in an unconscious state.

The driver of Mini bus BVV 9881 Sheldon Ellis along with one of the passengers, Fernando Johnson are hospitalized. The driver of Motor car PJJ 3110 Renvylle Persaud and one of the passengers Akeem Norton were also hospitalized. Police are continuing their investigations.
